On Friday, 3rd May 2019, 20 International students from Darmasiswa BIPA Program and Kerjasama Negara Berkembang (KNB) were visiting a tradition-conserving village, Kampung Naga at Tasikmalaya, West Java.
Accompanied by OIER Buddies, OIER interns, and Staffs of OIER, the group arrived at the destination at 10:30 WIB. The group was welcomed by the local guide at the entrance gate to the village. The group walked more than four hundreds stairs down to reach the track to the village, and walked another kilometer to reach the village. The tribe leader of Kampung Naga welcomed the group and gave a short introduction about the village. Before attending the Jumu’ah Prayer, the group is treated to a local feast by the villagers in the village hall.
After the Jumu’ah Prayer, the group was guided around the village by the local guide. The guide showed local points of interest, while explaining the local wisdom and values. The tour finished at 14:00 WIB, and the group departed from the village at 14:30 WIB, departing to the next destination; Tirta Gangga hot spring. The group arrived at 16:00 and the group enjoyed the hot spring until 17:30 WIB.
Before departing back to UPI, the group went to the souvenir center, and had dinner at the local restaurant. The group arrived back to UPI at 23:00 WIB. (Rifki)
