Deputy of Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Appreciates UPI’s Readiness in DBON Implementation

Chancellor of the Indonesian University of Education, Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin., M.Pd, MA received a visit from the Deputy for Coordination of Mental Revolution for the Advancement of Culture and Sports Achievement, Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), Didik Suhardi, Ph.D in order to directly review preparations for the implementation of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) on Wednesday (22/07/2022).

The visit was attended by the Chancellor and leaders of the Indonesian Education University, the Dean of FPOK Prof. Dr. H. Rd. Boyke Mulyana. M.Pd, the head of the Ministry for the Advancement of Culture and Sports Achievement, as well as officials within the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) RI.

On the agenda of this visit, Didik expressed his appreciation for the contribution of UPI as one of the central frameworks in developing DPON in Java. “The target this year is that we are just piloting for the central framework, which is expected to have 10 centers starting from 4 centers including UPI, UNNES, UNESA and UNJ. Hopefully, UPI and West Java can become warehouses for our athletes, both nationally and internationally.” he said.

Didik added that the Vice President as the chair of the steering committee and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture as the Deputy Chair of the Steering Committee always follow intensive preparations to ensure the realization of the DPON goals in 2035. “We hope that Indonesia will become the top 7 countries in the Olympics. UPI has adequate facilities, from here recruitment, coaching, practice matches, “he added.

On this occasion, UPI also hopes that the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture and the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports can support the improvement, development and empowerment of complete and adequate capacities, resources and facilities as a concrete form of building educational sports, recreational sports, sports achievements and the sports industry in Indonesia that is at the Indonesian Education University.
