
Bandung, 4-6 July 2023 – The Indonesia University of Education (UPI) has achieved great success in hosting the prestigious National Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM) 2023. The competition saw the participation of 100 groups from 48 universities across Indonesia, meticulously selected from a pool of 1,356 groups representing 234 universities nationwide. The final round of the competition took place at the Indonesia University of Education, with a total of 362 students, 90 supervising lecturers, and 15 judges present for the five divisions of the competition, along with other organizing committee members.
The official closing ceremony of LIDM 2023 was held on Thursday evening at the Achmad Sanusi Building of the Indonesia University of Education, and it was gracefully concluded by Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M.Ed., Ph.D, the Expert Staff of the Minister for Talent Management at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek).
In his closing remarks, Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M.Ed., Ph.D, praised the success of LIDM this year, attributing it to the dedication and commitment of all parties involved, particularly the Indonesia University of Education as the host institution. He highlighted how LIDM had become a platform that showcased courage, creativity, teamwork, and sportsmanship, serving as an inspiration to all.
“Success and victory are not the sole goals on the journey to greatness. Let us use the challenges we face today to surpass limitations and enhance our skills,” he urged.
Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M.Ed., Ph.D also expressed his admiration for the excellent educational innovations presented during LIDM, acknowledging them as a valuable medium for sharing knowledge and best practices, and as a means to learn from and impact society positively.
Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, M.A, the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs of the Indonesia University of Education and the director of LIDM 2023, conveyed his gratitude to the National Talent Development Center (BPTI) under the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) for entrusting and assigning the Indonesia University of Education as the host of LIDM 2023. He also expressed appreciation to the organizing committee and all parties involved for their collaboration and contribution to the event’s success.
Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, M.A emphasized the growing significance of digital technology in our lives today. Through LIDM, he proudly stated, the nation’s young talents are not merely technology users; they have proven themselves as technology creators and emerging content creators from Indonesia.
“Under the guidance of the National Talent Development Center (BPTI), students receive various approaches and programs to continuously channel their talents,” he added.
LIDM 2023 featured five divisions, including the Division of Digital Educational Technology Innovation (ITDP), Division of Digital Educational Learning Innovation (IPDP), Division of Digital Educational Video (VDP), Division of Digital Posters (PD), and Division of Digital Microteaching.
The event was indeed a remarkable showcase of innovative ideas and talents, indicating a bright future for Indonesia’s digital landscape and affirming the pivotal role of education in shaping the country’s progress. The collaboration between universities and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology further strengthens the commitment to foster an environment that nurtures and celebrates digital creativity and ingenuity among Indonesian students.
