

KUNINGAN – In response to the modern challenges of parenting, 86 parents in Kuningan District proactively attended a special training. Titled “Moral Development Training for Early Childhood Parents”, the event was held at SMP Negeri 1 Kramatmulya from August 2-3, 2023.
This two-day event was designed to enrich parents’ understanding of moral concepts, stages of children’s moral development, and the factors influencing moral formation. Participants were introduced to various techniques, ranging from parenting strategies to relaxation techniques to maintain emotional balance when facing child-rearing challenges.
This initiative is a collaboration between the Psychology Program of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FIP) UPI, POKJA PAUD of Kuningan District, and the Kuningan District Government. Behind the event is a team consisting of experts and students from UPI committed to making a positive contribution to the community.
According to Ismawati Kosasih, M.Si., Head of the Community Service Team, the program emerged based on research findings highlighting the need to understand the emotional and moral development of young children. “Through this training, we aim to ensure that parents have the tools and knowledge required to educate a morally strong younger generation,” she said.
The opening ceremony held at the “Ewangga” Kuningan District Arts, Sports, and Culture Building was attended by various representatives from FIP and the Kuningan District government. UPI Rector, Prof. Dr. H. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., M.A., symbolically started the program by striking a gong, followed by various artistic performances that added to the event’s vibrancy.
With a strong dedication, FIP UPI reaffirms its commitment as an agent of change, focusing on meaningful education for the community.
