Nara University of Education and Nara Women’s University Seek Enhanced Collaboration with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

Bandung, June 9, 2023 – In a fruitful discussion held today at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Vice President for International Relations of Nara University of Education (NUE), Prof. Maeda Koji, unveiled several proposals aimed at fostering new avenues for collaboration. The meeting, attended by representatives from UPI, NUE, and Nara Women’s University (NWU), explored potential partnerships in the form of faculty and student exchanges, as well as the expansion of educational collaborations.

Expressing gratitude for the valuable time dedicated to this meeting, Prof. Maeda Koji emphasized the significance of the exchange and promotion initiatives. “We hope that this discussion will prove beneficial to all parties involved, allowing for fruitful deliberations and the enhancement of our bilateral relations,” he remarked.

Prof. Dr. Bunyamin Maftuh, M.Pd., M.A., Vice Rector for Research, Business, and Cooperation at UPI, explained the purpose behind the visit of NUE and NWU. He stated that their objective was to renew the existing cooperation agreement and ensure the continuity of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the institutions. UPI and NUE have been engaged in a collaborative relationship for the past 15 years.

The academic cooperation agreement between the two universities encompasses student and faculty exchange programs, as well as joint research efforts. Moreover, Nara Women’s University seeks to follow in the footsteps of NUE by exploring opportunities for collaboration in the field of education.

Present at the occasion were Prof. Yoshimura Masahito, General Director of Nara International Strategy Center; Prof. Maeda Koji, Vice President for International Relations of Nara University of Education (NUE); and Prof. Takasu Fugo, Advisor to the President of Nara Women’s University (NWU).

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of commitment to fostering educational partnerships and a shared vision to further strengthen the ties between NUE, NWU, and UPI. The universities expressed their enthusiasm for developing a comprehensive framework that would facilitate academic, cultural, and research-based collaboration in the years to come.
