During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government of Indonesia made various adjustments in day-to-day business, including health protocols for Overseas Travelers (PPLN). Not only preparing travel documents, PPLN is also required to undergo a series of health checks. The stipulation of the policy of opening Indonesian tourism to foreigners, especially in Bali, also has an impact on variations in the completeness of documents that must be shown by PPLN upon arrival in Indonesia.
Provisions for Indonesian citizens and foreigners holding VITAS, ITAS and ITAP are still the same
Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreigners who enter Indonesia using a limited stay visa, limited stay permit and permanent residence permit are required to bring travel documents, Covid-19 vaccination certificate and test results RT-PCR. International travelers also need to show proof of booking quarantine accommodation.
“Referring to the SE Covid-19 Task Force No. 12 of 2022, all PPLNs must show the results of the RT-PCR test carried out a maximum of 48 hours before departure. Then at all entrances, there is now also a Peduli Lindungi application data check. If you need complete information regarding this, the public can contact the Ministry of Health or the Covid-19 Task Force,” explained the Sub-Coordinator of Public Relations of the Directorate General of Immigration, Achmad Nur Saleh.
Foreign Tourist Subjects to VOA Must Bring Submission Requirements
“Foreign tourists subject to Visa On Arrival (VOA) Special for Tourism only apply for entry permits when they arrive at TPI I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali. To get a VOA at the airport, they must attach a passport that is still valid for at least 6 (six) months, a return ticket or a canal ticket to continue traveling to other countries and other documents required according to the provisions of the Covid-19 Task Force,” he continued.
Other documents/equipment that must be prepared by Foreigners with VOA upon arrival at the airport include proof of hotel/accommodation payment for a stay of at least 4 (days), Covid-19 vaccination certificate and RT-PCR test results. In addition, according to the SE Covid-19 Task Force No. 14/2022, PPLN entering Bali must show health insurance with a coverage value of 20,000 SGD or according to the provisions of the manager.
Foreign Tourists with B211A Tourist Visas Can Enter Through Other Airports
Slightly different from foreign tourists who are subject to the Special Travel VOA, foreign tourists entering Indonesian territory with B211A Tourist Visit Visa must show proof of ownership of health insurance/travel insurance with a health cost coverage value of 25,000 US Dollars .
“For other complete documents, it is the same as foreign tourists with VOA, the difference is only in health/travel insurance. Well, foreign tourists with Tourist Visit Visas can enter Indonesian territory from the Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) other than Ngurah Rai Airport. They can enter through airports in Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam, Bintan, Sam Ratulangi and Lombok,” said Achmad.
