Executive Summary

Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) demonstrates strong commitment to eliminating poverty through comprehensive financial assistance programs. In 2025, the university provided financial aid to 14,561 students (38.2% of total 38,101 students), a significant increase from 8,665 students in 2024, reflecting the university’s expanding support for economically disadvantaged students.

Through Rector Regulation No. 003 of 2022, UPI implements an income-based tuition system that ensures students from the bottom 20% of household income groups can access quality education. The university provides comprehensive support including free and subsidized housing, counseling services, mentorship programs, and study completion assistance to ensure these students successfully graduate.

UPI extends its anti-poverty commitment beyond campus through community entrepreneurship programs like Biznest Edupreneur Academy, providing mentorship, training workshops, and access to university facilities to support the start-up of financially and socially sustainable businesses in the local community.
