Executive Summary
Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) is dedicated to fostering decent work and economic growth, ensuring fair practices for its 3,058 employees. With a total university expenditure of IDR 1,018,XXX,XXX, UPI maintains policies for a living wage, union recognition, anti-discrimination, and equal pay.
The university also prepares its 38,101 students for the workforce, with 5,671 students gaining practical experience through work placements. Post-graduation, 7,389 graduates successfully secure employment, while 1,529 choose to pursue further studies, demonstrating UPI’s strong contribution to economic empowerment.
Employee Practice
Living Wage Policy
UPI ensures all staff and faculty are paid at least the local living wage, defined by government standards.
Union Recognition
The university formally recognizes unions for all staff, including women and international employees.
Anti-Discrimination Policy
A formal policy exists to end all forms of workplace discrimination (based on religion, sexuality, gender, age, etc.).
Modern Slavery Policy
UPI maintains a public policy statement outlining measures to eliminate modern slavery and human trafficking.
Equal Pay Policy
A policy is in place to ensure equal pay for equal work, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or other characteristics.
Complaint Tracking
The university systematically tracks the number of complaints of discrimination filed by staff and students.
Official Appeals Process
Employees have access to an official appeals process through the PPID and Directorate of Finance web accounts.
Labour Rights Recognition
UPI recognizes labour rights (freedom of association & collective bargaining) for all staff, including women.
