Two Russian Citizens Deported from Bali for Violating Customs and Public Order

On Saturday (06/05/2023), the TPI Singaraja Class II Immigration Office deported two Russian citizens with the initials SN and IN through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport for violating customs and public order. The two foreigners had been detained by officers on Monday (01/05/2023) after posing for dancing and wearing indecent clothing at Pengubengan Besakih Temple, Karangasem, Bali.

According to Hendra Setiawan, Head of TPI Singaraja Class II Immigration Office, the actions of the two foreigners violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 Concerning Immigration. Meanwhile, another foreigner with the initials ML was not subject to deportation sanctions as he was found innocent based on the examination results. ML was invited to Besakih Temple by SN and IN, who are a married couple.

The two left Indonesia on a Qatar Airways flight with flight number QR-963 (Denpasar – Doha) which was continued with a flight route to Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow, Russia.

“This immigration administrative action is a real form of enforcement of immigration law in the working area of the TPI Singaraja Class II Immigration Office. The implementation of departure supervision for the two foreigners will run safely, in an orderly and smooth manner, by prioritizing humane law enforcement,” said Hendra.

He also appreciated the cooperative attitude of the community who reported the troubling actions of foreigners. Hendra appealed to the public not to hesitate in submitting a report if they witness foreigner behavior that is inconsistent with local customs and public order. To submit reports, the public can call the Singaraja Immigration Office hotline at number 0811389809.
