JAKARTA – The festive 28th National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) at the Southeast Plaza of Gelora Bung Karno served as a significant platform for Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) to exhibit its electric-based innovation. This product, renowned as green technology, was crafted by Pak Sriyono, S.Pd., M.Pd., a faculty member from the Faculty of Educational Technology and Vocational (FPTK) at UPI, with the active participation of his students.
Prof. Dr. H. Agus Rahayu, M.P., the Vice Rector of UPI for Innovation, Culture, and Information Systems, while touring the exhibition, emphasized UPI’s commitment to supporting such innovations. “We not only provide access to funding through matching fund schemes or centers of excellence but also through a special UPI scheme for lecturers and students who focus on innovations that have the potential to become commercial products,” he stated.
With the full support from the University Leadership, UPI hopes to continually urge its students to innovate, with an emphasis on practical application and commercialization. The aspiration is that exhibitions like Hakteknas can inspire academics to consistently generate and evolve innovative ideas.
The 28th Hakteknas, held over three days from August 11-13, 2023, is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek), and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The exhibition showcased over 145 tested innovative products from various sectors, including food, energy, health, electric vehicles, and other research-based and innovative products.
