As previously known, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) was once categorized as an informative Public Agency (Badan Publik). However, in the following period, its status declined to a “towards informative” category. This was revealed by University Secretary, Prof. Dr. H. Memen Kustiawan, SE., M.Si., M.H., Ak., CA., CPA., during an interview after attending the Socialization and Monitoring of Public Information Transparency at the JICA FPMIPA Auditorium, UPI Campus, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 229, Bandung, on Wednesday (September 18, 2024).
Therefore, the Socialization and Monitoring of Public Information Transparency event is intended to improve the quality of the Information and Documentation Management Officials (PPID) at UPI so that UPI can once again achieve the “informative” category.
“Another goal is to standardize the Public Information Service Standards (PERKI SLIP) and the implementation of Public Information Transparency (KIP) within Public Agencies,” he emphasized.
Based on Law No. 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Transparency, he continued, public information is classified into three categories: public information, immediate information, and exempt information. These three classifications have distinct characteristics. UPI is currently not yet fully compliant in providing information related to Goods and Services, Finance, and PPID for the implementing units.
Prof. Memen Kustiawan reaffirmed, “These deficiencies have now been addressed. It is hoped that through the Socialization and Monitoring of Public Information Transparency, the preparation of the Public Information List (DIP) and the Exempt Information List (DIK), as well as the management of the UPI PPID webpage, we can optimize the required improvements.”
For this reason, he added, heads of working units and managers of the working units’ web pages within UPI were invited to attend the presentation on the Socialization and Monitoring of Public Information Transparency and the preparation of DIP and DIK, delivered by a Commissioner of the Central Information Commission (KI) of the Republic of Indonesia, Syawaludin, S.Pd., M.H., and a presentation on the management of the UPI PPID webpage by the UPI Directorate of STI.
