UPI Cibiru’s Computer Engineering Student Team Wins 1st Place Nationally in the Internet of Things (IoT) 2023 Competition

Surabaya, July 27, 2023 – The Computer Engineering student team from the University of Education Indonesia (UPI) Cibiru has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the 1st place nationally in the Internet of Things (IoT) 2023 competition. The competition, organized by the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Telkom Institute of Technology Surabaya, took place on July 26th to 27th, 2023, at the campus of Telkom Institute of Technology Surabaya.

The IoT Competition 2023 is one of the initiatives of the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Telkom Institute of Technology Surabaya (ITTS). The Internet of Things Competition encourages university students and high school students from various backgrounds to think critically and creatively in the field of technology and digital connectivity, alongside LPPM ITTS. The competition aims to inspire the young generation of Indonesia to innovate and bring forth technological solutions that contribute to the development of society and the environment. Participants are expected to present creative projects that have the potential to create a positive impact on society and industries in the future.

The theme of this year’s competition is “Technology for Future Opportunities,” with sub-themes encompassing various sectors such as Smart Maritime, Smart Transportation, Smart Logistics, Smart Plantation, and Smart City.

During the event, the Computer Engineering student team from UPI Cibiru left their mark as the 1st place winner with their innovative project. With this achievement, the UPI Cibiru team has demonstrated their excellence and capabilities in competing at the national level. In a tightly contested competition, the UPI Cibiru team managed to captivate the attention of the judging panel, proving that their technological innovations have the potential to make a positive contribution and offer solutions to current and future challenges.

Prof. Dr. H. Asep Herry Hernawan, M.Pd., the Director of UPI Cibiru Campus, expressed his happiness over the success of the student team, stating, “Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), the Computer Engineering student team from UPI Cibiru has become the 1st place winner nationally. This is the most beautiful gift at the end of my term.” He also added, “This achievement is the result of the hard work and dedication of the student team and their mentors. Hopefully, this success will motivate other students to continue achieving excellence and uphold the university’s good name.”
