Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) successfully conducted a series of activities for the 2024 Pre-College Achievement Selection (Pilmapres) over two working days, March 22-23, 2024, at the UPI campus and Hotel Travello Bandung. The Director of the Student Affairs Directorate at UPI, Prof. Dr. H. Suwatno, M.Si, stated that the purpose of organizing the Pilmapres at UPI is to strengthen and facilitate student creativity through intracurricular, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities, awarding outstanding students, and increasing the number of creative ideas for development. He expressed hope that UPI would achieve first place in regional and national selections for the 2024 Pilmapres.
The Pilmapres at UPI was coordinated by Dr. Yatun Romdonah Awaliah, M.Pd, as the Responsible Person and Head of the Student Affairs and Organization Division, along with the UPI Student Affairs Directorate staff. The selection process was conducted in stages, starting at the Program Study level, then at the Faculty level, and finally at the University level. Participants who successfully ranked first at the University level then proceed to the regional selection stage at the Higher Education Service Institution in West Java and Banten from May 10-15, 2024. If UPI participants successfully rank first at the regional selection level, they will then proceed to the initial and final national selection stages organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology from May 20, 2024, to July 28, 2024.
At the UPI Pilmapres, the selection activities were conducted in stages, starting with selections at the Program Study level, followed by selections at 9 Faculties and 5 UPI Campuses in Cibiru, Sumedang, Tasikmalaya, Purwakarta, and Serang, and finally at the University level. The activities involved Deputy Deans of Student Affairs in the Faculties, Deputy Directors of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at UPI 5 Campuses in Cibiru, Sumedang, Tasikmalaya, Purwakarta, faculty deans, student affairs officers, selection committee members, and the Pilmapres jury at the UPI level.
Participants in the UPI Pilmapres competed in the university-level selection by preparing various requirements according to the guidelines and conditions of the national-level Pilmapres, which includes outstanding achievements with a weight of 45%, creative ideas with a weight of 35%, and English proficiency with a weight of 20%.
At the UPI Pilmapres 2024, the first position was won by Davin Arkan Admoko Putra, a student of the Logistics Engineering Program, Faculty of Education, Technology, and Vocational Studies UPI. The second position was won by Willy Auliya Yashilva, a student of the Nutrition Program, Faculty of Sports and Health UPI. The third position was won by Ihsan Nurhadi, a student of the Logistics Engineering Program, Faculty of Education, Technology, and Vocational Studies UPI.
