UPI’s Competitive Bumi Siliwangi Team finally won an international achievement as the third winner in the urban electricity category in the Shell Eco Marathon which was held on 11-15 October 2022 at Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
This Shell Eco Marathon competition was held for the first time in Indonesia. The Shell Eco Marathon is a competition that challenges students from around the world to innovate to design and build the most energy efficient vehicles. This is to answer future energy challenges, as well as to realize smarter and more sustainable vehicle technology.

The Shell Eco Marathon in 2022 was attended by 49 student teams consisting of 33 teams from Indonesia and 16 teams from 11 countries in the Asia Pacific and Middle East including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea, India, Kazakhstan and Nepal.

The Bumi Siliwangi Electricity Urban Team, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, at the Shell Eco Marathon in 2022, achieved a distance of 98 km/kWh. This achievement was obtained through preparations and exercises that the Bumi Siliwangi Team had carried out long before departure. The awarding of prizes and awards will be held on October 15, 2022 at 16.00 WITA at the Mandalika Circuit podium. The UPI Competitive Bumi Siliwangi Team consists of 14 students with the manager Rheihanita Noer Aprilia.

For this achievement, the UPI Competitive Bumi Siliwangi Team would like to say “thank you for the support that has been given by the UPI academic community, especially for all leaders from the UPI level to the Study Program level,” said Rhei, as he is known as his nickname.
