WCU UPI

The Higher Education Improvement Program towards a World Class University (WCU) 2021 is a follow-up to the institutional development program of the Institutional Directorate, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, as well as the achievement targets of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), which are stated in the Strategic Plans (RENSTRA) of 2021-2025. The General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, has set a target for UPI to enter the top # 1000 ranking based on the QS-WUR ranking in 2024. One effort was made to achieve the target in 2021, namely by launching a program that focuses on four activities;

1. Academic reputation,
2. Internationalization,
3. Employer reputation, and
4. University branding.

Academic reputation is carried out through improving the quality of research, publications and citations, as well as the reputation of UPI’s researchers at the national and international levels. Internationalization is achieved through the development of a global atmosphere among UPI’s academic community. Employer reputation is pursued by enhancing the reputation of UPI’s graduates from employers’ perspectives at the national and international levels. Finally, UPI aims to enhance its image at the international level through various rebranding activities and strengthen the University’s exposure on social media and websites.
