KOMPOR UPI Restarts Offline Robotics Training Activities for Students

The Community of Automation and Robotics Enthusiasts Indonesian University of Education (KOMPOR UPI) is holding back offline robotics training activities for UPI students which are expected to allow students to be creative, innovative, and productive to face the world of robotics in the future. This activity began with the opening of a training event at the UPI FPTK Auditorium which was attended by 57 UPI students from various faculties. The opening was attended by the UPI KOMPOR supervisor, namely ‌Dr. Dadi Rusdiana, S.Pd., M.Si and ‌Dr. Iwa Kuntadi, M.Pd. at the same time opened the activity which was held on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

The opening activity that had been carried out was not only the opening ceremony but also carrying out the materialization activities, one of which was the lecture on automation and robotics, the speakers from this activity were conveyed by an extraordinary member of KOMPOR UPI who has a lot of experience and once won a robot contest so that during the materialization activities it also provides motivation and experience to students.

This training activity consists of three areas, namely hardware, software, and mechanics. This activity is carried out every weekend on Saturday and Sunday for each field consisting of 3 lectures as well as practice and 1 evaluation. Hardware field training is training for students to be able to design and build robots from robot electricity by knowing sensors, transducers, actuators and designing PCBs that are applied to robots. Training in the software field is training for students to be able to design and build robots from robot programming by knowing the robot movement algorithm and programming that is applied to the robot. Mechanical training is training for students to be able to design and build robots from robot frames by knowing the 3D design of robots and building robots using the machines used by KOMPOR UPI.

It is hoped that this ongoing training activity will enable UPI students to know and participate in the world of robotics, and be able to compete in the digitalization era. Then by carrying out this activity it can add to UPI’s achievements in regional and national events.
