SEAMEO BIOTROP Started the Year with Dissemination of Featured Programs and Golden Tickets

Starting in 2023, SEAMEO BIOTROP held dissemination activities for the SEAMEO BIOTROP flagship program and the Golden Ticket program. Through this program, it is hoped that more high school graduates will be able to continue their studies to a higher level and at the same time produce young entrepreneurial candidates. This activity was held in a hybrid manner on January 10, 2023 in the SEAMEO BIOTROP Teak Room, and online via the zoom platform.

Through the Golden Ticket program, prospective students can register for the D3 Distance Education (PJJ) Study Program in Informatics Engineering, Surabaya State Polytechnic of Electronics (PENS) without taking a test. Prospective students can take courses while they are high school/vocational high school students, where the certificate of completion of the course will be converted into credits during lectures.

In his direction, the Head of the Vocational School Division of the West Java Education Office, Edy Purwanto, revealed that the Golden Ticket is a pattern of increasing human resources. The goal is that there are no more high school/vocational high school graduates who are unemployed, but graduates from universities and entrepreneurs.

“This is closely related to the number of vocational high school graduates in West Java, which is quite high, reaching 1.6 million students each year, so it is necessary to make breakthroughs through innovation, collaboration and decentralization,” continued Edy.
