Two representatives from Osaka University Japan visits UPI

On February 11, 2020, UPI welcomed Nobuhide Sawamura, Ph.D., and Nobuhide Katayama, Ph.D. from Osaka University Japan, at Partere UPI Building. The purpose of their visit was to conduct research related to community learning; they are planned to observe some Community Learning Activity Center or Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) in Bandung. The guests were welcomed by Ahmad Bukhori Muslim, Ph.D. as the Head of Office of International Education and Relations (OIER), he said the arrival of the two guests could strengthen the partnership relationship between the two universities, especially in joint research.

Vice President UPI of Research, Partnerships, and Business, Prof. Dr. H. Didi Sukyadi, M.A. in his welcoming remarks said, “I hope the collaboration between UPI and Osaka University will be maintained, and will have more of collaboration in the future.” Some representatives from Non-Formal Education Program (PENMAS) UPI also attended the meeting; the head of Non-Formal Education Program Dr. Asep Saepudin, M.Pd., also Dr. Iip Saripah, M.Pd., and Dr. Yanti Shantini, M.Pd.

Mr. Katayama and Mr. Sawamura expressed their gratitude for UPI’s warm welcome. They said that UPI welcomed them very well; they were very happy to be in Bandung and received so much help to conduct their program.

Other than the research project, possible collaboration was also being discussed. There is a possibility of future partnerships program between Osaka University with PENMAS UPI for lecturer discussion and collaboration in research in related programs.
