UPI implements the mandate of Permen PAN RB

Broadly speaking, there are two main things that we must do immediately. First, we need to implement the mandate of the law regarding the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative Reform of Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) Number 19 of 2018, which requires every university or government institution work unit to create a business process map. Based on this, we feel the need to immediately socialize the UPI Business Process Map and the Workshop for Preparing SOPs for work units within UPI.

This statement was confirmed by Dr. Sahroni, S.Sn., M.Pd, who is a member of the Bureaucratic Reform Development Team and the ZI Assessor Assessment Team of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), in an interview session after giving his presentation in the UPI Business Process Map Socialization and Workshop for Preparing SOPs for Work Units in the UPI Environment. The meeting was held in the University Center Building 3rd Floor, located at Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi Number 229 on Thursday (16/2/2023).

Dr. Sahroni explained that UPI also has an interest in implementing the mandate of the PAN RB Ministerial Regulation. He emphasized that it is not only necessary to comply with the regulation, but it is also essential for improving the service process that will be carried out by UPI. By doing so, UPI will know the strengths and weaknesses of the services provided, and whether they align with customer expectations or not.

“It can be concluded that there is currently an urgent need to create business processes, including how to make them, what they should look like, and what the benefits are for us. We also need to determine the steps we need to take and what the leadership expects, so that we can have a business process map in the specified time,” said the Head of Change Agent at UPI.

Dr. Sahroni added that the main preparation needed is coordination with leaders in each work unit. It is essential to ensure that the unit leaders are aware of the need for their involvement, as they have the best knowledge of the services provided by their unit. Although affirmation from lower-level staff is possible, it is important to involve the leaders in the process. Therefore, all unit leaders are invited to attend the UPI Business Process Map Socialization and Workshop on SOP Preparation for work units within UPI simultaneously.

The next step is to ask each work unit to identify the services they provide, and then bring all the unit services to the central level. We will hold a workshop to compile the information and create the UPI Business Process Map. This map will be used as a reference for making SOPs for each unit.
