The Indonesian University of Education is holding a collaborative program entitled “Bridge: Exploration of Sundanese Culture” which takes place in the Auditorium Room of FPMIPA A Building on Saturday (29/10/2022). The program is part of the collaboration between the Indonesian University of Education and 8 other universities. This program is held every Saturday for 2 months from 29 October – 17 December 2022.

The aim of this program is to promote local culture and wisdom, especially Sundanese culture, to international students who are domiciled in Greater Bandung by discussing angklung music. “The second goal is to connect foreign students on other campuses, for example at UPI there are students from Africa, maybe there are other campuses, maybe they haven’t met yet,” said the Director of the Directorate of International Affairs at the Indonesian University of Education, Ahmad Bukhori Muslim, Ph.D. , who also attended. Bukhori also said the purpose of this event was also to make foreign students feel at home by introducing them to Sundanese culture.

International students attending this program come from various countries. Starting from China, Japan, to Turkmenistan. “Hopefully this event will be a success and foreign students will get to know the culture in West Java, know the music, the language, and the people,” said the director of DIA UPI when interviewed. Bukhori also hopes that foreign students will maintain communication when they return to their respective countries of origin.
