Experts from UPI Enter the List of Most Influential Scientists in the World

One of the experts from the Indonesian University of Education (UPI) is again on the list of the most influential scientists in the world. He is Dr. Eng. Asep Bayu Dani Nandiyanto, ST, M.Eng., who is a lecturer with the rank of Associate Professor (chief lecturer) from the Department of Chemistry Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, UPI. Previously, Elsevier BV and Stanford University re-released a database update on October 20, 2021 regarding the list of the 2% of the most influential scientists in the world.

The latest data update on October 20, 2021, there are 58 Indonesian-affiliated scientists who are listed in the single-year category, one of which is Dr. Asep. Launching the UPI page, Saturday (23/10/2021), Dr. Asep, who is engaged in the research topic “particle technology” which is applied in the fields of science, engineering, and education, is included in the top 1% of scientists.

From Elsevier-Stanford University data for a single year, the ranking has increased from the previous year with a higher position. Dr. Asep is engaged in research and publication with his team in the Nandiyanto Research Group and his team in the UPI Journal and Publication Office. He has conducted several pieces of research, such as:

1. nanotechnology (since 2004)
2. photocatalyst (since 2005)
3. waste adsorbent (since 2005)
4. milling process (since 2013)
5. re-use agricultural waste (since 2013)
6. science and technology education (since 2017)
7. Metal-organic framework (since 2018)

Published on Scopus as of October 23, 2021, as many as 242 pieces with an h index of 29. There are still many works being produced during this pandemic.

He created several tools, including sterilizer and nano healing booths that have been copyrighted and patented. In addition, Dr. Asep currently has won more than 32 national and international awards. Apart from being at the world level, at UPI itself, he is an award winner as a Lecturer with the Best Research and Publication Performance in 2021.
