Global Citizen Partnership: A Meeting With The Representatives of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)

ASEAN International Mobility of Students (AIMS)  is a collaborative program for the regions of ASEAN. The purpose of the program is to improve the development of qualified globalised human resources as well as to promote and actively participate to become ASEAN community. The program itself provides scholarships for the students from selected home universities to study and improving their skills at a host country. Therefore, the communities in regions of ASEAN can conduct academic collaboration to maintain ASEAN International Mobility of Students.

On behalf of Global Citizen Partnership and AIMS, UPI welcomed UiTM at Bandung for academic partnership forum.

On Thursday, March 22, 2018 representatives of UiTM discussed toward academic collaboration with UPI in the afternoon. To familiarize both universities, Prof. Dr. R. Asep Kadarohman, M.Si. as the rector of UPI and Prof. Dr. Hj. Mohamad Kamal Haji Harun as Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic and International UiTM held a welcoming speech and brief introduction of each university. The Head of UPI International office and representative from faculty of Economic and Business Education UPI also present at the formal meeting. The academic collaboration or partnership was meant to be about student and faculty exchange, credit transfer, research collaboration, conference and further academic collaboration agendas. UiTM and UPI also share their students’ abroad experiences and achievements.

Hopefully the academic partnership by the universities may embrace long-term cooperation. Faculty staff or young lecturers of UPI may be able to initiate their doctoral program at UiTM.  UiTM will warmly welcome UPI students who would like to be interns at UiTM in any area. Faculty of Economic and Business education UPI also hopes to have international collaboration with UiTM in management, technology, and science field. Exchanging souvenirs and merchandise from each university marks the end of the formal meeting.
