Teaching Practice Program for UPI students continues in Davao

Bandung, UPI – After the opening ceremony for the School of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur, the Directorate of International Affairs (DIA) UPI continued to hold the teaching practice program in Davao, Philippines. The opening ceremony was held on video conference through Zoom Meeting, on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, at 13:30 WIB. This program was warmly welcomed by all the excited participants although the program must be held via online due to pandemic.  UPI is highly thankful to the School of Indonesia in Davao (SID) for receiving four teaching practice students: one student from Economics Education, one student from Civics Education, one student from Physics Education, and one student from Indonesian Language Education.

This event was attended by Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, M. A. In his welcoming remarks, he stated “We are so grateful that this program could be held despite the pandemic. The students could get a lot of experiences by practicing online. I really hope the students do their best and take this chance to explore the varieties of character and culture.” The Acting Principal of SID, Henny Mulyani, S.H., M.H. also hoped the students will get new insights and share the online learning methods. She is certain that this program could bring refreshing atmosphere to SID as this is the first time to run the online program. Also present at the event were the teachers of SIKL, supervisors, and teaching practice students.

The teaching practice program in School of Indonesia in Davao challenges the students to teach in multi-level, from pre-school to senior high school, with different backgrounds.
