Sukabumi, January 17, 2024 – Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., M.A., the Rector of the University of Education Indonesia (UPI), has been conferred the honorary title of “Warga Kehormatan Waruka Sakabumi Pajajaran Museum Prabu Siliwangi” in a ceremony held at the Aula Syekh Quro, Ponpes Modern Dzikir Al-Fath, Sukabumi City. The title, bestowed by the founder of Prabu Siliwangi Museum, Prof. Dr. KH. M. Fajar Laksana, S.E., CQM., MM., Ph.D., also the leader of Pondok Pesantren Modern Dzikir Al-Fath, was formalized on Wednesday (17/1) through the traditional ceremony of Adat Payung Agung and Ngagotong Lisung.

KH. Fajar Laksana stated that conferring the honorary title upon Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin is a gesture to strengthen the bond between educational institutions. He praised the Rector for his numerous contributions, believing that his work has brought success to UPI and benefited society.

“To strengthen the emotional ties of our friendship, we appoint the UPI rector as an honorary citizen of Waruka Sakabumi Pajajaran Museum Prabu Siliwangi, with the name and title ‘Rama Karta Cakra Buana,'” emphasized KH. Fajar Laksana.

The title “Rama Karta Cakra Buana” encompasses local values and appreciation for contributions. “Rama” signifies a parent, “karta” refers to works, knowledge, and prosperity, “cakra” means opening, and “buana” means the world. Hence, the bestowed title implies a knowledgeable and productive individual whose life is beneficial for the world.

Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., M.A., hopes that this honorary title strengthens collaboration between UPI and Pondok Pesantren Modern Dzikir Al-Fath.

“This is a trust, a responsibility, and, of course, a hope. Hopefully, this built friendship will be further strengthened and serve as a bridge for more beneficial collaboration, both for the pesantren here and UPI. Hopefully, we can provide opportunities for students from this pesantren to continue their education at UPI. Conversely, we may also send lecturers and students for internships and learning experiences in this pesantren,” stated the UPI Rector.

During his visit to Pondok Pesantren Modern Dzikir Al-Fath and Prabu Siliwangi Museum on Wednesday (17/1), the UPI Rector not only received the honorary title but also participated as a speaker in an Education, Culture, and Character Seminar. Furthermore, UPI signed a cooperation agreement with Ponpes Modern Dzikir Al-Fath concerning education and training, research, internships in educational institutions at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels, as well as at the Prabu Siliwangi Museum under the auspices of the Yayasan Ponpes Modern Dzikir Al-Fath.
